Mick Jaggar STOLEN! Help
My bike was stolen last night. It was in my backyard (unlocked) from 8pm-1am and when I came home it was gone. I am just sick over this. Today Heath is coming to help me figure out another bike (thank goodness for Bici!). If you are in the Birmingham area and see him around, PLEASE call me. 205-706-7034.
since this photo I have added a 'This is Public Health' sticker and it says Mick Jagger on the drive side (Thanks Diana!). Pretty unmistakable.
Thanks everyone.

Bike thieves suck big time. Hope you find your bike.

Dammit! Let's find the guy and beat him with an inner tube.
ReplyDeleteStart checking craigslist and maybe ebay.
ReplyDeleteI hope you get it back intact.
If the thief is riding it around, someone is bound to spot it.
Get a photo of it as well as the serial number to every shop in the B'ham area.
ReplyDeleteFuck, that sucks! I hope Mick turns up!
ReplyDeleteOutrage! Curses!
ReplyDeleteNow back to the positive and hoping Mick comes home and soon.
oh... i'm sorry. hope he turns up soon.
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry to hear that! I hope he makes his way back home to you!
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear! Hope you find him.
ReplyDeletethat is such a shame. You should register it with the police. a friend of mine did that and when he saw it locked to a bike rack, he was able to cut the lock and get it back. Best of luck finding it!
ReplyDeleteSo sorry about this. I'll be on the lookout.
ReplyDeleteBummer, man (uh,woman, I mean). I suspect it won't show up HERE, but if it does, I'll keep an eye out for it.
ReplyDeleteI'm not at all sure I want to invest in a good bike, as quickly as bikes are being stolen, lately.
Maybe my Raleigh is just fine. Raleigh, The ALL STEEL BICYCLE. Built from finest steel water pipe! (Put that on a sticker, put it on the bike, and I bet it won't be stolen.) It doesn't help if you insist on leaving "Le Mond" on your bike however.
Sorry for your loss. A bike is more personal than a car, it's like a member of the family, I think.
Will there be a funeral?
Its a shame when Lance Armstrong had his bike stolen, he got free advertising on TV and every Cop in California looking for his bike. Nobody would have been able to ride it or sell it because of this exposure, so it came back. For him it was probably one of many bikes and there was no real personal attachment. For you its so much more and features on your blog header. I would try and raise some local media interest by making the story different, by using the Mick Jagger thing, and mentioning the cycle cooperative workshop. This way you could get dual publicity at the same time. You will be suprised what human interest stories some media groups will take on. Sadly i think that the only way your bike will com,e back will be if the therif is made to feel guilty, or too exposed.
ReplyDeleteI hope that you are able to recover your bike unharmed!
ReplyDeletewhoa
ReplyDeletethat;s awful
sorry
maybe it will turn up in atl, doubtful but i will be looking

May all bike thieves rot in hell! I've only had 5 stolen.
ReplyDeleteI've had two bikes stolen, so I know how painful it can be. Hopefully, the well-wishes of your friends/commenters will be some consolation.
ReplyDeleteBike thieves suck. Hope you get Mick back unscathed.
